Opening Day of the Farmer's Market!

For the second year in a row the opening day of the Farmer's Market was a cold and rainy day. That didn't stop me! At 8am I got up, took a shower and headed down to Lyndale Avenue. There were not a lot of vendors, but I was excited to see my favorites. I loaded up on fruits and veggies and then picked up some string cheese and farm fresh eggs. I also decided that I want to do a herb box outside this year so for $10 I picked up some parsley, thyme, rosemary, basil and oregano.

Date Night!

We haven't really done a real date night in awhile. Tonight we decided to go see Fast Five. Who doesn't like fast cars and hot guys?!

Blooming!

Last week when it got cold and snowy I brought my tulips into the house. All week I've been watching them get taller and today the buds started to open.

Happy Birthday Isaboo!

Isaboo turned three yesterday. I will never forget how scared our little fluff ball was when we brought her home. She has found a special place in our hearts and we love her to pieces!

SNOW?!

I really do like snow. But I like snow in November, December, January and February. Snow on April 20 is a bit much. Granted it's suppose to be gone by tomorrow but really? I am ready for flip flops! I will admit that driving into work this morning the snow was very pretty. I wanted to pull over a few times to take a picture, but I waited until I got to work before I took out my camera. Hopefully this will be the last snow picture until November!

Best $10 Purchase Ever!

When we tore apart the kitchen in 2007 I bought a $10 baby gate at Target to keep the dogs out of the kitchen when it wasn't safe or the walls were wet. That baby gate has been used for remodel projects, to keep the dogs out of the room when I broke my leg, when Troy has friends over and the dogs and I are hanging out in the bedroom. It's gotten a lot of use! It was one of the best purchases I ever made for $10!

Three Down, One To Go

Between last night and tonight we painted two coats of paint on three of the four walls in the living room. Tonight Troy is prepping the forth wall so tomorrow night it can be painted. That wall is going to be burgundy. I'm excited for it to be done! Then it's time to clean the rest of the house!

New Toys!

One of the benefits of not having kids is the ability to buy new toys for us. When Troy's mom and dad offered us their furniture when they move up north the plans to redo the living room started to brew. Our goal was a new flat screen tv. It was time to get the bulky tv out and open up the living room. We got our tax money this week so tonight we went to get the tv since it was on sale and I had a coupon! Troy was most impressed that I was able to find a coupon to save us 5% on the cost of the tv on top of the sale price! As I type measurements and plans are being made. Once the walls are painted the tv will go up!

Solutions to a migraine

I get the occasional migraine. Today's was not a fun one. I was trying to relieve it with Tylenol and water but it wasn't happening. My fantastic, awesome, extremely talented massage therapist offered to do a late night session. A huge Thank You goes out to Stephanie Lasch at StoneWater Massage and Skin Care for making me feel human again!

Ten Years, Seven Months and Sixteen Days

Troy and I have been married for ten years, seven months and sixteen days. I remember most of what happened on our wedding day. I remember that it was hot and muggy. I remember thinking that I lost our rings, I remember walking down the aisle with my dad and thinking, "This is it! After this we're going to be married!" When the day was over and we were at home, just the two of us, being married didn't feel any different. I thought that there was going to be some big change. That no longer was I going to just be Katie, but I was going to be Katie of Troy and Katie. But that's not what our marriage is about. I love my husband with my whole heart and I would not change a thing about our marriage. You see, I am married to my best friend. He is the one I turn to when I am sad, he is the one I celebrate with when I am happy. No matter what, he's there for me. What what's even better is when I want to be just me, or do something alone or with a friend I don't have to explain that to him. He gets it. He's always the one that you will hear say, "Our marriage works because we're together, but we have our separate lives too." Just before our five year anniversary I started hinting that I wanted an anniversary band to go with my wedding set. Five years came and went, ten years came and went. I've come to the conclusion that you don't need to celebrate just on your wedding anniversary, you should celebrate your marriage every day!

Dinner For A Discount

Last week both Amy and Lori told me about crowdcut.com. They had a special on that day for Flame. Troy and I love Flame. We tried it the first week they were open and we fell in love with their slow roasted beef. That week they did not have steak knives yet and this beef is so tender you can cut it with a fork! So tonight we used one of the three gift certificates that I bought. It was a $30 gift certificate that I bought for $15! How's that for a great deal?

They Know Something Is Going On

My in-laws are packing up the house. They are moving up north at the end of the month. We were over there tonight and the cats were curious as to what was going on. They were checking out everything that was going into the box. They know something is going on!

Pleasantly Surprised!

My walking plans with Amy got canceled tonight. I was going to start some laundry but decided instead to take Bear out for a walk. He never gets to go when Amy and I walk so it was a good opportunity tonight. We didn't go far. Just under a mile but we were walking fast and I think I picked every hill there was to go up. I was a little nervous about walking him. He usually pulls and with his temperament I am not sure how he'll react if we come across other people. With that in mind I put his muzzle on him. The his harness and I had a leash hooked to his collar and one to his harness. I do this so I have control over him. Most of the time walking tonight I didn't have to use both leashes. In fact I mainly was only hanging onto the one on his harness. He walked really nice for me tonight! It was great! If I saw someone else walking a dog I would turn off before we got to them. We did pass a lady pushing a stroller but he didn't pay any attention to her! He did great!

Redecorating

We are in the planning stages of redoing the livingroom. Today we hit a few stores to pick up paint chips. After going through them we came up with the colors that we are going to use. The TV wall of the livingroom is going to be Ruby Lips. The other three walls will be Cliff, a gray. Then we will be painting the hallway Whistling Wind, it is also a gray but with a green tint. I also picked out a new color for the back bedroom. It will not have to be done right away but when we do get to it will be Timeless Sage. I'm excited! We'll have a whole new livingroom!

September 1998 to July 1999

I am officially at a stopping point for Bobby's album. I am out of pictures until I can either scan in the couple I have in another album or get over to my mom's. So in two weekends I got 10 months of pictures done. That's 51 pages! This kid better appreciate me!

Up to Feb and March 1999

Yep! Another scrapbook weekend! Hopefully I get more done this weekend than the last event. It should be a little more lively with it being an Amy and Bert event.
