Cold, Allergies, Doesn't Matter, I'm Sick.
Earlier this week I thought it was allergies. Allergy medicine even helped. After the allergy medicine stopped working I realized it wasn't allergies. This has not been a fun week off from work.

Chillin' at Grandma and Grandpa's
This was Isaboo's first trip up north. We really wanted to get her into the lake but it was too windy today. I took her on the dock and over to the public access but if there was a chance that her feet would get wet she didn't want to have anything to do with it. We'll try again another day when it's not so windy and a little warmer. She wore herself out running around the yard and taking in all the new smells.

For the love of coffee
It is no secret, my love of coffee. Most people who know me know not to ask me important questions before my first cup of the day. Yesterday I woke up and was out the door to begin storm clean up before pouring a cup. It wasn't until 1:something today when I got my first cup of the day. That's when I realized I went all day yesterday without caffeine. Good thing I didn't have to make any major decisions yesterday! We would have all been screwed!

Just Relax
The nice thing about the north shore is the ability to relax. This morning I woke up, got out of bed and just relaxed. It is so nice to not have any demands. Tonight the fog is rolling in and the waves are super high. Ahhh just relax.

I'm back!
I had to take a break from blogging. In fact I've pretty much taken a break from everything. I haven't been on Facebook, I've barely read email, I haven't been reading blogs that I am subscribed to. I have been trying to figure out why I have been avoiding everything and pretty much everyone. Today as I was waking up and laying in bed I started realizing that it was a vacation day and I didn't have to be on the computer all day. I didn't have to be tied to instant messanger. In today's digital world everyone is all about communicating instantously. If you don't respond to an email or a text message you're being rude. People need to slow down and enjoy life and not have their eyes glued to the computer or smart phone. We need to pay attention to the people who are right in front of us. We need more face to face time and less keyboard to keyboard time. That is what this weekend is for me, slow down, relax and enjoy some face to face time. I am slowly adding back computer time but I do not want it to control my life.

She Thinks She's a Cat
Lately Isaboo has been sitting on top of the couches. Tonight I looked over and she was laying there like she thought she was a cat. Silly puppy!

Let Storm Season Begin
I was never a huge fan of storms. I would usually pace around and look outside wondering if I should run for cover. The last few years I have actually grown more interested and now instead of pacing and wondering if I should run for cover I am fascinated by the clouds and the color of the sky. Back about 15 years ago when I was a fire explorer we were at Camp Tanadoona for the special needs boy scouts weekend when a nasty storm came through camp. We were hauling people in wheel chairs down into storm shelters and running through the camp ground in the pouring rain. The storms finally settled that night but the next morning everyone rushed through breakfast and packed up because another storm was coming through. I think that's when my nervousness about storms wore off. I figured if I made it through that night that storms really aren't that scary.

Rough Life
I was gone all day today which means the dogs only had daddy to cater to all of their needs. When I got home Isaboo was outside. She had apparently been out there pretty much all day. Now she is passed out on the couch. By the looks of the nails on her front paws I am guessing that we have a few new holes in the back yard.

My Current Drug of Choice
I have not been shy about my dislike for Spring. The past few days I have woken up to a scratchy throat, itchy eyes and general stuffiness. Troy kept telling me I was getting sick. I kept thinking it was allergies. This morning I went rooting around in the cupboard and came up with a box of Claritin. While driving to work it kicked in and my sinuses opened up and I started to feel better. I am pretty sure this is going to be my new best friend for awhile.

A Must Read Series
Yes it is a young adult series but so is Twilight and there's plenty of 30somethings reading that. This series is about teenage vampyres in high school. I got Courtney hooked on it too. So when book 7 came out she wanted to re-read the first 6. Do you think I could find them all?! Heck no! I ended up at Half Price Books where I found one of the two books that I was missing. That left book number one to find. I've checked the bedrooms, the attic, the closets and the basement. I swear it's not in this house! Tonight I just gave up and stopped at Target and picked up a new one.

Maybe it was the Wine??
Today was one of those days... we've all had them. It's those days that you feel like no matter what you do it's not good enough. That someone always wants more from you and you're to blame for every little thing that went wrong. My day started with a meeting that I basically felt like I was being told how to do my job. I got done with that meeting and was pulled into another meeting where I was basically told that the Customer Service Team said that it was my fault that they weren't able to close some tasks or that they were having customer service issues. When in all reality everything that was brought up to me I told my boss where in the system you could find the notes of what I had done or what I needed to be able to complete a project or a task. I am sick and tired of the finger pointing the the fact that no one else wants to take responsibility for their own mistakes. I work hard at what I do. I try to make sure that everything I do is documented and take everything very personally. I've been told that I take things too personal but when you're talking about my job and what I do that's a part of me! So tonight we got home from work. We finally had a nice day weather wise and I really wanted to take advantage of it. I had bought four bags of mulch a few weeks ago when we had a nice day, but then it got cold and rainy so they sat there. Today I decided to spread it out. Troy asked what he could do and I suggested that he make dinner. He asked me what was planned and I said grilled chicken and some sort of vegetable. He decided on potatoes. I came in from spreading the mulch and he asked if I was going to go to Best Buy and I said I didn't really feel like it so he said so don't! Just relax. Huh?! What?! Just relax?! So I poured a glass of wine and settled in on the couch while he made dinner. What a great job he did! The chicken was still juicy and the potatoes were perfect! I don't know if maybe it was the wine, or maybe it was just the fact that I didn't have to cook but it was definitely a great end to a crappy day.

Breaking in the New Couch
We moved in the new furniture! The living room is really starting to come together. We still have to run to Ikea and pick up a shelf and we want to plan out a shelving unit in the closet. I am really happy with the way that the colors on the walls turned out. The dogs went crazy when we brought the couches in. I think Isaboo thought that the cats were inside the couches some where. It's nice to have the foot rest where you can sit down, put your feet up and watch tv or read.
